Fire Near Boarding Gate Triggers Evacuations at Hong Kong Airport

(MENAFN) A fire that broke out Tuesday in a room adjacent to a boarding gate at Hong Kong International Airport led to the evacuation of passengers, according to reports.

Authorities from the Fire Services Department received an emergency alert at 3:03 pm (0703 GMT). Fire crews responded promptly and managed to bring the situation under control by 4:01 pm (0801 GMT), as stated by officials.

The department confirmed that 30 individuals were evacuated as a precaution.

Airport officials said several boarding gates were temporarily shut down while the incident was being handled. No injuries were reported.
